Technology in plain language
We explain AI and everyday digital tools in language that makes sense, so learning starts from where you already are instead of where a manual assumes you should be.
03 / THE FUTURE KNOWS HER NAME
The Future Knows Her Name is a movement of Wolf & Velvet™ built to educate, empower, and expose women of color to what technology now makes possible.
Being included in the future is not only about using new tools. It is about practical digital literacy, being visible where people are looking, and holding real agency over how your name, your work, and your knowledge are represented. The work is open to anyone who wants it, and it is designed with women of color at the center.
WHY THIS MATTERS
THE MOVEMENT / 01Technology is changing who gets discovered, who gets represented, and who gets invited into the next opportunity.
Algorithmic invisibility describes a problem many people recognize: their knowledge and contributions are difficult to find in the systems people use to search, learn, and make decisions. Our work asks whose stories are missing, how digital erasure takes hold, and what women can do to make their experience more visible on their own terms.
Digital exclusion can deepen poverty by making information, services, learning, and work opportunities harder to reach. We connect digital literacy with practical action, helping women understand the tools, represent their experience, and participate more fully in the digital economy.
You don’t have to be a tech girl to have a place in the digital future.
You decide what visibility means for you: reaching a wider audience, being found by the right people, or making informed choices about what stays private.
THE DIGITAL FACE CARD
THE MOVEMENT / 02Your digital face card is the living record of who you are professionally and how that record shows up in the world.
It connects your résumé, your bios, your profiles, your LinkedIn, the work you are credited for, the expertise you have built, and the direction you are heading. It is not a document you finish once. You develop it, protect it, keep it current, watch what happens to it, and use selected parts of it on your terms, including with the personal AI agents that are becoming part of everyday work.
The check is the entry point into that framework, not the finished record. It looks at your own answers across accuracy, visibility, credibility, control, and readiness, then shows you where to begin. Guided work on building and maintaining the fuller record is in development.

HOW THE WORK MOVES
FOUR COMMITMENTSWe explain AI and everyday digital tools in language that makes sense, so learning starts from where you already are instead of where a manual assumes you should be.
Understanding turns into practice. Women build the skills to participate safely, make their own decisions about what to share, and act with confidence rather than permission.
Ideas, tools, careers, people, and possibilities that are rarely put in front of us. Seeing something exists is often the step that changes what a person believes they can do.
None of this works alone. We build relationships, learn out loud together, and keep a community around the women doing the work.

THE FUTURE KNOWS HER NAME / THE PODCAST
Shinavia McKinney and Precious "Preciosa" Myers-Brown talk the way two women talk when the work is real and the room is honest. Life, culture, leadership, humor, and the reality of building something together, alongside digital literacy, algorithmic invisibility, digital erasure, and the link between access and opportunity.
